MUSIC PRODUCTION. YOUR SOUND.
Some projects arrive as a complete demo. Others start with a guitar riff, a vocal idea or a voice memo. Work with Simon Cordova to develop the arrangement and recordings that turn that starting point into a song.
Plan your project
Production is quoted to the project. Recording sessions start from $125 AUD.
An artist’s perspective on production
Simon writes and performs as Donkeyman as well as producing, recording, mixing and mastering. His approach starts with the song’s character: the lyric, the rhythm, the energy and the parts that already feel right. Bring references as a conversation starter rather than a template to copy.
Parts, arrangement and a useful demo
As a multi instrumentalist, Simon can discuss instrument parts alongside the vocal and overall arrangement. A session might focus on developing a section, refining the structure or capturing performances. The work included depends on the project brief and agreed time.
Decide what the song needs next
A rough demo can reveal what needs writing before recording begins. A developed arrangement may be ready for tracking. Send what you have, explain what you want help with and agree the next stage before committing to a larger project.
How it works
- Share the demo or voice memo and a description of your direction.
- Agree which writing, arrangement, instrument and recording tasks are needed.
- Plan the work in stages with clear deliverables and a project quote.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS.
Do I need a finished song?
You can enquire with a rough demo, riff or voice memo. Explain what is already written and what help you want so the project can be scoped.
Can production include recording and mixing?
It can be discussed as part of a wider project. Recording time, production work, mixing and mastering should be specified in the quote rather than assumed to be included.
Can you make music for rap or rock?
Rap and rock are central to Simon’s Donkeyman project. Share your music and references to discuss the right sound and scope.
